Description
SCIENTIFIC NAME:
Phaseolus lunatus
CULTURE:
Sow about 7,5 cm apart, 1,2 cm deep in rows 45-90 cm apart, after soil is at least 24°C.
HARVEST:
Pick for fresh shelling when beans are plump and bulge inside pods.
NOTE:
Limas require more heat than regular bush beans, and will bear poorly in a cool growing season. Optimal soil temperature for germination is around 29°C and the optimal ambient temperature for growing plants is 21–27°C. Choose a warm, well-drained location.
